About Discount & Sale Calculator

The OmniTools360 Discount Calculator shows the final price you pay after a percentage discount, and how much money you save. You can also add an optional sales tax, which is applied to the discounted price. It is free and runs instantly in your browser.

How does the Discount & Sale Calculator work?

The tool multiplies the original price by the discount percentage to find your savings, then subtracts the savings from the price. If you enter a sales tax, it adds that percentage of the discounted price to get the final total.

Formula

Savings = Original Price × Discount % / 100. Discounted Price = Original Price − Savings. Tax = Discounted Price × Tax % / 100. Final Price = Discounted Price + Tax.

Frequently Asked Questions about Discount & Sale Calculator

How do I calculate a discount?

Multiply the original price by the discount percentage and divide by 100 to get the amount you save, then subtract it from the price. For example, 25% off 80 is 80 × 25 / 100 = 20, so you pay 60. Enter the price and the discount in this calculator to see the result instantly.

Is sales tax applied before or after the discount?

In this calculator, sales tax is applied after the discount, on the reduced price. This is how most shops charge tax. For example, 100 with 20% off becomes 80, and 10% tax on 80 adds 8, for a final price of 88. Local rules can differ, so check your receipt.

How do I calculate two discounts in a row, like 20% then 10%?

Apply them one after the other, not added together. 20% off 100 gives 80, then 10% off 80 gives 72. That equals 28% off in total, not 30%. With this calculator, run the first discount, then enter the new price and the second discount.

How do I find the original price before a discount?

Divide the sale price by (1 − discount / 100). For example, if an item costs 75 after 25% off, the original price is 75 / 0.75 = 100. This calculator works forward from the original price, so you can check your answer by entering 100 and 25%.

Can I use the discount calculator with any currency?

Yes. The math is the same for every currency, so you can enter prices in USD, EUR, INR, GBP, or any other money. The screen shows a dollar sign, but the savings and final price are correct for whatever currency you use. The results are rounded to two decimal places.
