About Universal Unit Converter

The OmniTools360 Unit Converter changes a value from one unit to another across length, weight, temperature, speed, area, volume, and data storage. Type a number, pick the two units, and the result appears right away. It runs fully in your browser and needs no sign-up.

How does the Universal Unit Converter work?

For most categories, the tool multiplies your value by a fixed factor to get a base unit (such as meters or kilograms), then divides by the factor of the target unit. Temperature uses its own formulas because the scales do not start at the same zero point.

Formula

Result = value x (factor of the from-unit) / (factor of the to-unit). Example factors: 1 ft = 0.3048 m, 1 in = 0.0254 m, 1 mi = 1,609.344 m, 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg, 1 US gallon = 3.78541 L. Temperature: F = C x 9/5 + 32, C = (F - 32) x 5/9, K = C + 273.15. Data storage uses binary steps, so 1 KB = 1,024 bytes and 1 GB = 1,024 MB. Results show up to 6 decimal places.

Frequently Asked Questions about Universal Unit Converter

How do I convert meters to feet?

To convert meters to feet, divide the number of meters by 0.3048, or multiply by about 3.28084. For example, 10 meters equals 32.8084 feet. In the Unit Converter, choose Length, type your value, select Meters as the from-unit and Feet as the Target Unit, and the answer appears instantly.

What is the formula to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius?

The formula is Celsius = (Fahrenheit - 32) x 5/9. So 100 F is (100 - 32) x 5/9, which equals about 37.78 C. To go the other way, use Fahrenheit = Celsius x 9/5 + 32. The Unit Converter applies these exact formulas when you choose the Temperature category.

How many megabytes are in a gigabyte?

In this converter, one gigabyte equals 1,024 megabytes, because it uses binary units where each step is 1,024. Some storage makers use decimal units instead, where 1 GB equals 1,000 MB. This is why a new drive often shows slightly less space on your computer than the number printed on the box.

Which units can this unit converter handle?

The tool covers seven categories: length, weight, temperature, speed, area, volume, and data storage. Examples include meters, miles, inches, kilograms, pounds, stone, Celsius, Kelvin, km/h, knots, acres, hectares, liters, US gallons, US cups, and bytes up to petabytes. You can only convert between units inside the same category.

Is this unit converter free and does it work offline?

Yes, the Unit Converter is free and needs no account. All calculations run in your browser using fixed conversion factors, so no data is sent to a server when you convert. Once the page has loaded, conversions keep working even if your internet connection becomes slow or drops.
