How to make a WhatsApp QR code
- Type your WhatsApp number including the country code, for example +91 98765 43210.
- Add an optional greeting that will appear in the customer's message box, such as "Hi, I'd like to book a table".
- Pick a design and keep or edit the "Chat on WhatsApp" frame label.
- Scan the preview with your own phone to confirm it opens the right chat.
- Download the PNG and add it to your flyer, shop window or packaging.
Where to use a WhatsApp QR code
- Shop counters and windows so walk-in customers can ask about stock later
- Delivery bags and receipts for reorders and complaints
- Real-estate signboards, with the property address in the pre-filled message
- Event badges so attendees can message you instead of swapping numbers
- Product manuals for after-sales support
Frequently asked questions
Does this WhatsApp QR code expire?
No. This is a static QR code: the information is stored inside the pattern itself, not behind a redirect on our servers. It keeps working for as long as the printed code is readable, with no subscription, scan limit or watermark.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business numbers?
Yes. The code uses the official wa.me click-to-chat link, which works for both regular WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business accounts.
Can the person edit the pre-filled message?
Yes. The message only appears in their text box. They can change it or delete it before tapping send, and nothing is sent automatically.
Why do I need the country code?
WhatsApp links require the full international number without a leading zero. Without the country code the chat would open with the wrong person or fail to open.
