About Image Format Converter
The OmniTools360 Image Format Converter changes images into JPG, PNG or WebP for free, right in your browser. You can convert several files at once, set the quality for JPG and WebP, and compare the file size before and after. Your images are never uploaded to a server.
How does the Image Format Converter work?
Each image is decoded by your browser, drawn onto a canvas at its original width and height, and re-encoded in the format you choose. Any format your browser can open works as input, including JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame only), BMP and, in most current browsers, AVIF.

Frequently Asked Questions about Image Format Converter
How do I convert PNG to JPG?
Select your PNG files, choose JPG under Convert to, set the Quality slider, and click Convert. Each converted file gets a Download button with a .jpg extension. If the PNG has transparent areas, keep the white background option on, because JPG cannot store transparency.
Does converting an image reduce its quality?
Converting to PNG keeps every pixel exactly as decoded, so there is no further loss. Converting to JPG or WebP uses lossy compression, and lower quality settings make smaller but softer images. A setting around 80 to 90 percent is usually hard to tell apart from the original for photos.
Can I convert animated GIFs?
Only the first frame of an animated GIF is converted. The tool draws the image onto a canvas, which captures a single still frame, so the result is a static JPG, PNG or WebP. Animation is not preserved. Static GIF images convert normally with no loss of content.
Why is my converted file larger than the original?
This usually happens when converting a compressed photo to PNG, or re-saving a JPG at a higher quality than it was saved with. PNG is lossless, so photos become much bigger. Choose JPG or WebP with a lower quality value if you want a smaller file than the original.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No, all conversion happens inside your browser using the built-in canvas feature. Your images are never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone else, and the tool keeps working with your files even on a slow connection once the page has loaded. Closing the tab clears everything.
